L’Anthologie Sonore was a French record label, focusing initially on medieval and Renaissance music. Artists featured included Martha Angelici, Pauline Aubert and Gustave Cloez. Full details of the label can be found at http://www.medieval.org/emfaq/cds/ans99999.htm

Sadly, the records from this label which I’ve acquired tend to be in extremely poor shape - the surface noise is heavy particularly at the lower mid-range, many of the discs are badly warped, in some cases fractured, and often with crazed surfaces. This seems to be an unfortunate feature of much French shellac of the time. It is often clear, however, that the recorded sound is good.
